Sports Premium

Primary schools are being given government funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport during the school years 2022/23.

This funding is ring-fenced and is being provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will be allocated to primary school headteachers and will be used to raise the quality of the sports and PE teaching in the school.

The schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
