Breakfast Club
TIME: 8.00 am - 8.35am
St Stephen’s School Breakfast Club aims to provide pupils of all ages with a safe and fun place to start their school day.
We are pleased to inform you that, as part of the Department for Education’s Free Breakfast Club Programme, St Stephen’s CE School offers a free breakfast club for ALL pupils.
The Breakfast Club is open to all pupils and we will do our best to accommodate the needs of your child. If your child has special needs/disabilities and requires extra support, please discuss this with Breakfast Club staff.
The club is informal and friendly, allowing children a choice as to how they start the day: some children like to wake up slowly, others prefer to get on and play. The club provides for both quiet space (for reading, etc.), and a free play area, as well as more structured activities. Play, rather than education, is at the heart of the club.
Each morning a nutritious breakfast is provided. The children are encouraged to help themselves, sit down and talk together and then clear up their dishes: the idea is that our breakfast replicates as far as possible the atmosphere of a family meal. At the end of the session, the children are well fed, happy and ready to learn.
If you would like your child to attend regularly, please complete and return the block booking form to the school office, indicating the days your child will attend for the term.
Please note:
- If a pupil does not attend five or more booked sessions within the term, the block booking may be cancelled to allow places for other pupils. Please note pupil’s will not be penalised for sickness absences.
- Parents who require an adhoc breakfast club place can book via the School Getaway website up to two days in advance, subject to availability.
- In extenuating circumstances, if you do require your child to attend from 7:45am, please contact the school office so that arrangements can be made to support the earlier start.
We look forward to welcoming pupils to the breakfast club and supporting a positive and healthy start to their school day.
