British Values

British Values at St Stephen’ C of E Primary school.

Promoting British Values

At St Stephen’s Primary School, we reflect, celebrate and respect our rich and diverse community through our curriculum, our Christian values and ethos, and composite school activities. We give voice to our community, made up of a wide range of culture, faiths and ethnicity through the exploration of specific subjects and events as shown in our school curriculum. We strongly believe in the rule of law and expose our children to the British values of:

  • Democracy
  •  The rule of law
  • Individual Liberty
  • Mutual Respect
  •  Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

This was emphasized in the June 2014, by the DfES while stating the following: “all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
