 Our Christian Values

Theological Background

OUR CHRISTIAN VALUES

Rationale

Our school’s distinctive Christian Values were selected by a working party of governors, staff and pupils. The working party used the materials produced by The National Society (Christian Values for Schools) to select the six core values which underpin our vision, policies and approaches. These values are firmly rooted in Christian narrative.

Purpose

This document is designed to support governors, staff, parents and children in embracing and embedding our Christian values throughout our school community. For each value, there is a description of what the value means; the theological background and appropriate biblical links. It also makes them personal to our school and community by giving tailored examples of how these values can be demonstrated each and every day; at school and at home.

Expectations

Our values underpin all that we do. This is demonstrated through:

  • Behaviour policy firmly rooted in the Christian Values.
  • Termly Homework – Home School Values
  • Corridor display the values of our values and award winners.
  • Consistent classroom displays of values.
  • Termly Christian Values Award celebrations.
  • School website regularly updated with the current Christian Value and its theological background.
  • Value-focused collective worship planned and delivered by teachers each week.
  • Values referenced in marking and planning.
