World Book Day
Pictures of the children in costume...

..On World book day, the children dressed up as their favourite book character.

The children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character. Thank you to parents and carers for taking the time and effort to making it such a memorable day for the children and staff. The children enjoyed talking about their costumes and sharing their favourite book.

Every child brought in their favourite book and spent 10-15 minutes of the assembly reading quietly and then sharing it
with a friend.

Children were also given a £1 'World Book Day' Book token that can either be exchanged for one of ten special £1 World Book Day books or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more.

You can find out more about the books at

Congratulations to this year’s winners for
the most creative/funniest costume.

Early Years out-door learning area gets make-over
The play area was given a green look over half term...

The decking has been replaced with artificial grass.

After carrying out research, we decided to use artificial grass as it has many benefits such as -

  • Stops the mud!
  • ‘Free Flow' environment
  • Stimulates creative play
  • Creates a safe play area
  • Reduces accidents
  • Extremely durable
  • Low maintenance
  • Won’t be broken down under pressure.

Before and after pictures can be seen by clicking on the image above.

The next stage will involve varnishing, painting and brightening up the area. We plan to invest in some good quality learning resources to enhance the Early Years outdoor environment.

This term we will be focussing in school on the value FORGIVENESS...

...Everyone makes mistakes, it's part of being human. Sometimes our mistakes hurt others and then we need to say sorry.

Sometimes mistakes made by other people hurt us. When this happens we need to be able to forgtve. Forgiveness can be difficult and costly but without it a new start is impossible.

Talk together about:

  • A time when you needed to say SORRY
  • A time you didn't say sorry but wish you had
  • A time when you had to forgive someone who had hurt or upset you
  • How it feels when you are given a new start because someone has forgiven you
